Goods We Accept
What we need
Clothes:
Men’s pants, shirts and coats, men’s shoes (especially athletic
and good walking shoes) underwear, socks and small hygiene items.
Household items:
Sheets, blankets, towels, dishes, utensils, small electrical items such
as crock pots and electric frying pans. Can openers are also needed
to distribute with canned goods.Clothing and other goods can be dropped off at any of our four thrift
stores located throughout San Mateo County.
Items We Do Not Accept for Donation
Any furniture that has stains, spots, rips, tears, pet hair, holes, burns, etc.
Water beds and couches over 7 feet long (84 in).
Metal, formica tops or desks over 4 feet long; office dividers.Refrigerators and Household Appliances
Refrigerators must be self-defrosting and plugged in for at least 24 hours prior to the arrival of our truck. Small refrigerators could be taken if in good condition, plugged in for at least 24 hours and under driver’s discretion.
Dishwashers, sinks toilets, bathtubs, shower doors or shower units.
Built-in stoves, doors, windows.
Small appliances that are in need of repair.
Miscellaneous Items
Car parts, tires, paint solvents, chemicals.
Pianos and organs.
Wall-to-wall carpeting or worn and soiled carpets.
Newspapers, magazines or books that are too worn.
National Geographic or encyclopedias.
Clothing that is badly soiled, worn.
Materials or yarn.
Perishable food or out-of-date canned food.
Medical equipment like medicines, commodes, bath or shower seats.
