DONATE GOODS

Your tax deductible donation of clean, usable furniture, clothing and household items makes an enormous difference in the life of someone in need.

Donate Quality Used Items view goods accepted list

Donations may be made at any of our four thrift store locations Monday through Saturday. Please call your local St. Vincent de Paul thrift store for drop-off hours.
                                     
To schedule a pickup of gently used items you would like to donate, call (650) 871-6844 between 9 am - 5 pm Mon-Sat.

We gratefully accept furniture and household goods in saleable condition (includes lamps, pots, dishes, small appliances, bedding), clothing, fans, heaters, and most other items. We do accept refrigerators that are in running condition. Unfortunately we are unable to receive large appliances such as stoves at this time.

Accepted Items
Computers, cell phones, cables, DVD players, Hard drives, keyboards, laptops, mice, microwave ovens, monitors, oscilloscopes, power supplies, printers, scanners, shredders, stereos, radios, telephones, TVs, VCRs

What We Need

Clothes
Men’s pants, shirts and coats, men’s shoes (especially athletic and good walking shoes) underwear, socks and small hygiene items.

Household Items
Sheets, blankets, towels, dishes, utensils, small electrical items such as crock pots and electric frying pans. Can openers are also needed to distribute with canned goods.

Items We Do Not Accept

Furniture
Any furniture that has stains, spots, rips, tears, pet hair, holes, burns, etc.
Water beds and couches over 7 feet long (84 in).
Metal, formica tops or desks over 4 feet long; office dividers.

Refrigerators and Household Appliances
Refrigerators must be self-defrosting and plugged in for at least 24 hours prior to the arrival of our truck.
We do not take dishwashers, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, shower doors or shower units.
Built-in stoves, doors, windows.
Small appliances that are in need of repair.  

Miscellaneous Items
Car parts, tires, paint solvents, chemicals.
Pianos and organs.
Wall-to-wall carpeting or worn and soiled carpets.
Newspapers, magazines or worn books. 
National Geographic or encyclopedias.
Clothing that is badly soiled, worn.
Materials or yarn.
Perishable food or out-of-date canned food.
Medicines
Medical equipment - commodes, bath or shower seats.

Due to high transportation and disposal costs for items that are in non-saleable condition all merchandise scheduled for pickup is at the sole discretion of our drivers.
